Summer Pulpit Swap

Published in Church News

Our minister will be away from 16 July to 10 August 2018.  During this time she will be in Alexandria, Virginia and will be staying in the home of Revd. Juli Wilson- Black.   At the same time Juli and her family will be in our manse.  This is not only a house swap, but also a pulpit swap.  So on Sunday 22 29 July and 5 August, Mary will be preaching at Fairlington Presbyterian Church, while Revd Juli Wilson-Black will lead services here.   (Although Revd Juli Wilson-Black will lead the services during this time, pastoral cover will be arranged locally.)

Juli attended the University of Richmond, where she majored in religion and Latin American studies. She spent time as a student and Presbyterian Church (USA) mission volunteer in Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico.  She earned her Master of Divinity degree at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago in 1995, and served small and large churches in Chicago, Louisville, Kentucky, and Bethesda, Maryland, before moving to Fairlington in 2013.

Juli’s husband Rob is CEO of Sojourners, a faith-based social justice advocacy organization based in Capitol Hill.  They have three children Hannah (16), Claire (13), and Owen (10).
